Dermaplane Treatments

Dermaplaning is a physical exfoliation of the skin that triggers the cell regeneration process and allows products to better penetrate skin. Dermaplaning also rids the face of excess fine hairs “Peach Fuzz,” which can often accumulate dirt and oil causing breakouts.

Contrary to popular belief, vellus hairs or “Peach Fuzz,” as opposed to terminal hair, will not grow back thicker or darker. Exfoliation of dead cells along with the removal of fine hairs results in healthier, brighter skin that has a smoother look and feel. Make-up will go on smoother too!

What is the treatment like?

Dermaplane treatments take about 30 minutes. The area to be treated will be cleansed, and then sterile blade will be used to gently exfoliate your skin.   The sloughed off skin cells and “peach fuzz” will be gently wiped away at the end of the procedure – revealing a fresh, vibrant skin surface.  No pain, no down-time, may be combined / added on to other treatments such as Chemical Peels, Microdermabrasion or Fractional Collagen Induction/Micro-Needling.

When will I see results?

What can I expect after my dermaplane?

Because dermaplaning is non-invasive it has low risk complications and is one of the safest skin rejuvenation procedures available. Some report redness, sensitivity, or dry feeling in their skin after a treatment, but this is temporary. Very rarely the skin can be nicked. This typically heals almost on the spot. Typical care following your treatment includes the use of moisturizers and sunscreens, and avoiding sun exposure for a few days. There is no downtime for this “lunch hour” procedure, and most people return to their regular activities immediately.

Will the “peach fuzz” on my face grow back darker and thicker after a dermaplane?

No. This is a common myth, but the hair on your face is not the same as the hair on your legs or bikini line. It will not be effected by a dermaplane in any way.

Can I combine my dermaplane with other treatments?

The answer to that is a resounding YES! Not only can you combine a Dermaplane with chemical peels, Fractional Collagen Induction/Micro-Needling,  laser LHE treatments, Microdermabrasion, or any of our Cosmecutical Facials… you should! By removing the outermost layer of the epidermis, a dermaplane treatment then allows whatever rejuvenating treatment that follows it to have a deeper and more long-lasting effect.
